How to Meditate with a Mala beads?

How to Meditate with a Mala beads?

A Mala Beads or Japa Mala is a simple and effective tool that can help reduce stress and increase wisdom, patience and health. How to use your Mala Beads (Japa Mala)? A Mala beads can be used with any hand. Always start with the bead next to the guru bead (the biggest bead). As you repeat the mantra, move each bead with your thumb toward the body, over the meridian point as explained below. With each repetition of the mantra, move only one bead per mantra, not per syllable or word. For example: when you recite the mantra SAT NAM WAHE GURU, move only one bead for the entire mantra. To start again, turn the Mala beads to return from the same side, you should never pass the guru bead. Move the beads toward you and continue your mantra. You can use a Gemstones Mala beads and you will benefit from the unique properties of each gemstone. The use of the different fingers with your Mala beads Every finger you use is related to a different part of the brain. When you pass the Mala beads on the meridian point of the desired finger, you create a different result. The meridian point is located next to each finger, between the fingertip and the first knuckle: Index finger (Jupiter): wisdom, knowledge and prosperity Middle Finger (Saturn): increase patience Ring finger (Sun): promotes health, vitality and strengthens the nervous system Pinky finger (Mercury): ability to communicate and intelligence Using your Mala beads with a mantra You can use any affirmation or mantra of your preference. The recitation of your mantra can be done in silence, whispering or aloud. You can do them informally while you spend your day or in a deep meditative state. Sit cross-legged on the floor or in a chair with your feet on the floor. Sit with your spine straight, with your chest out and chin in. You can focus your eyes on the third eye. Recite your mantra with your mala, as described above for 11, 31 or 62 minutes. Remember to listen to your mantra, use the navel point and stimulate the meridians with your tongue. Some examples of meditations with your Mala beads To improve your health: Move the Mala beads on the finger of the Sun (ring) with the mantra SAT NAM or WAHE GURU or SAT NAM WAHE GURU or a personal affirmation of healing. To reduce stress and anxiety: Move the Mala beads on the finger of Jupiter (index) for wisdom or the finger of Saturn (medium) for patience. Use the HAR or WAHE GURU mantra or a personal affirmation to reduce stress. For prosperity: Move the Mala beads on Jupiter’s finger (index) for wisdom, knowledge and prosperity or on the finger of Mercury (pinkie) to increase communication skills. Recite the mantra HAR or WAHE GURU. Prosperity can also be measured in immaterial terms. Being able to sacrifice, to be tolerant, giving, compassionate and have spiritual peace are also states of prosperity. These are attributes that cannot be bought. They are gems in immaterial forms. What is Kundalini Yoga?

What is Kundalini Yoga?

I’ve been asked genuinely: What does Kundalini Yoga bring you? A million thoughts ran through my head, in the end I resumed it in one word: HAPPINESS. Kundalini yoga can bring you many things and teach you many lessons, though the most important to me is that everything is already inside you. You have all the resources you need inside you, happiness, love, inner peace… You have to stop looking for these things outside of you because you will never be fulfilled nor satisfied until you understand that you already have it all. The practice of kundalini yoga will bring you to this state of consciousness where you can truly connect with yourself and experience the infinite power within you. In a Kundalini Yoga class, we are training our mind, body and soul so that we can face our everyday challenges with serenity and creativity, without letting them affect us too much, even enjoying them! Progressively you’ll enjoy a life with less stress and more happiness. What is Kundalini Yoga? Kundalini yoga is one of the oldest yogas. Yoga means union, and the goal of any yoga practice is to reach the union between the individual consciousness and the universal consciousness. Kundalini energy is your creative potential, your highest consciousness it is coiled at the base of your spine and the goal of the practice is to rise this energy along your spine (and your chakras) so that you can experience fully your creative potential, your infinite consciousness. It is a long journey and as all journeys it all starts with a single step. During your kundalini yoga journey you will start experiencing changes quite fast. Kundalini yoga is the “highway” of yoga, it is said that one year of kundalini yoga practice is equivalent in effects of 22 years of Hatha yoga. A lot can be said around Kundalini Yoga but the most important is the practice and the experience, so come join us! How does a Kundalini Yoga class work? We first tune-in with the Adi mantra (Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo, 3 times) to connect to our inner master and to the golden chain of Kundalini Yoga Teachings. Then we chant the Mangala Charan mantra 3 times for protection: Aag Guray Nameh, Jugad Guray Nameh, Sat Guray Nameh, Siri Guru Dev-ay Nameh. The class may start with a Pranayama which is a kind of meditation using the breath. Prana is the vital energy which is contained in the air we breathe. The core of the class is a kriya which is a set of postures (asanas) given in a particular sequence and amount of time to reach a specific effect. All my classes respect the Teachings of Yogi Bhajan. After the kriya we do a deep relaxation to integrate fully the effects of the kriya. The class may end with a meditation, although it is sometimes integrated in the kriya before the relaxation. Each class is different, depending on the length of the kriya we may or may not do a pranayama at the beginning and a meditation in the end of the class. Classes are suitable for all levels, beginners are very welcome as kundalini yoga is a very personal experience and easier alternatives can be proposed if necessary. “Conquer yourself! Conquer your mind, conquer your soul and conquer your body. Don´t follow me, nor other belief, nor other personality, have the experience!” Yogi Bhajan. From SATNAMA with Light
