What does Kundalini Yoga bring you?

I’ve been asked genuinely: What does Kundalini Yoga bring you? A million thoughts ran through my head, in the end I resumed it in one word: HAPPINESS.

Kundalini yoga can bring you many things and teach you many lessons, though the most important to me is that everything is already inside you. You have all the resources you need inside you, happiness, love, inner peace… You have to stop looking for these things outside of you because you will never be fulfilled nor satisfied until you understand that you already have it all.

The practice of kundalini yoga will bring you to this state of consciousness where you can truly connect with yourself and experience the infinite power within you.

In a Kundalini Yoga class, we are training our mind, body and soul so that we can face our everyday challenges with serenity and creativity, without letting them affect us too much, even enjoying them! Progressively you’ll enjoy a life with less stress and more happiness.

What is Kundalini Yoga?

Kundalini yoga is one of the oldest yogas. Yoga means union, and the goal of any yoga practice is to reach the union between the individual consciousness and the universal consciousness. Kundalini energy is your creative potential, your highest consciousness it is coiled at the base of your spine and the goal of the practice is to rise this energy along your spine (and your chakras) so that you can experience fully your creative potential, your infinite consciousness.

It is a long journey and as all journeys it all starts with a single step. During your kundalini yoga journey you will start experiencing changes quite fast. Kundalini yoga is the “highway” of yoga, it is said that one year of kundalini yoga practice is equivalent in effects of 22 years of Hatha yoga. A lot can be said around Kundalini Yoga but the most important is the practice and the experience, so come join us!

How does a Kundalini Yoga class work?

  • We first tune-in with the Adi mantra (Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo, 3 times) to connect to our inner master and to the golden chain of Kundalini Yoga Teachings.
  • Then we chant the Mangala Charan mantra 3 times for protection: Aag Guray Nameh, Jugad Guray Nameh, Sat Guray Nameh, Siri Guru Dev-ay Nameh.
  • The class may start with a Pranayama which is a kind of meditation using the breath. Prana is the vital energy which is contained in the air we breathe.
  • The core of the class is a kriya which is a set of postures (asanas) given in a particular sequence and amount of time to reach a specific effect. All my classes respect the Teachings of Yogi Bhajan.
  • After the kriya we do a deep relaxation to integrate fully the effects of the kriya.
  • The class may end with a meditation, although it is sometimes integrated in the kriya before the relaxation.

Each class is different, depending on the length of the kriya we may or may not do a pranayama at the beginning and a meditation in the end of the class.

Classes are suitable for all levels, beginners are very welcome as kundalini yoga is a very personal experience and easier alternatives can be proposed if necessary.

“Conquer yourself! Conquer your mind, conquer your soul and conquer your body. Don´t follow me, nor other belief, nor other personality, have the experience!” Yogi Bhajan.
